Allen and I have a tradition amongst our group of friends that when someone hits a milestone (turns 40), we take a trip. Two of our close friends turned 40 this fall and they picked Cabo San Lucas as their spot to celebrate.
We stayed at the JW Marriott in the Griffin Club.
It was an amazing resort and HIGHLY recommend it. The service and accommodations were terrific. The food and cocktails were spectacular. Everyone who worked there was extremely kind and helpful. I would go back in a heartbeat. Check out some of these views!
Y’all know how important food is to me especially on vacation.
I love finding new and fun restaurants to try. We did a bunch of research before we went to find really amazing restaurants. All of the food in Cabo was delicious and fresh tasting. Our breakfasts were included with the upgrade to the Griffin Club so we stayed in every morning. The kiwi (and all of the fruit) was so good so each morning I indulged in fresh fruit, yogurt and omelets made to order. They had a man that stood in the breakfast bar making made-to-order lattes, cappuccinos and espressos so of course I had at least two of those each morning.
Our first night we ate in the nice restaurant at the hotel called, Cafe des Artistes. It was delicious. Most of us did the Tasting Menu where we had small portions of the most favorite items from the menu. There were five courses in all and each one was better than the next.
This was our time to relax.
Life is crazy for all of us between work, kids and life in general. So most days, we pool hopped and hung out at the swim-up pool bar. If you go, ask for Federico… he makes the yummiest mojitos.
I have been hearing about Flora Farms for as long as can remember. It is an adorable outdoor restaurant with white twinkling lights strung up everywhere. The food was so good! I have to say though, if I’m being honest, that the service was not great. It took forever to order and the large party beside us (that arrived after us) got there food ordered and delivered while we were still waiting. I would try it again if I ever get the chance to go back!
The third night we headed into downtown Cabo.
We started out with drinks at the Cape Hotel Rooftop Bar. The view was amazing, they had live music and good cocktails. We could have stayed there all night.
After drinks we walked over to the Sunset Mona Lisa restaurant. We sat outside and our view of the bay during dinner made our time there even better. This truffled fettuccine didn’t hurt either.
And no trip to Cabo San Lucas would be complete without a trip to Cabo Wabo (apparently).
The last night the hotel put together a celebration for the birthday kids. They bent over backwards to make things nice and special. From sushi, to magic tricks to delicious wine and cocktails, it was a great night and sombreros were completely necessary.
We came home relaxed and refreshed and now I’m ready for our next adventure!
